How we deal with Bed Bugs:

All our work is confidential.
We make every effort to avoid publicizing what we’re doing
to guests and staff.

  1. We need your help to identify possible travel routes for bed bugs from room to room. The pests flattened bodies allow them to travel easily through wall voids.

  2. Any possible infested materials should be placed in clear plastic bags so migrating insects can be easily seen.

  3. Are there bed bugs in your shuttle vehicles?

What Else Should I Know About These Bugs?

  1. Bed bugs are usually brought in on guest’s clothing and luggage.

  2. Bed bugs are not controlled by general pest control treatments.

  3. Bed bug eggs are attached to rough places in their hiding areas and will hatch in about ten days.

  1. Good housekeeping practices, such as vacuuming possible hiding places, including cracks and crevices, may discourage repeat infestations.

   How do I know if
   we have bed bugs?

Bed bugs are wingless ectoparasites, which feed on the blood of humans, but they do not transmit disease. Bed bugs rely on human blood for complete nutrition and so usually feed weekly.

These insects stay in close contact with each other and live in cracks and voids near areas frequented by people, usually in bedrooms or other sites where a person might sit or rest for long periods of time.

The most severe infestations can occur in any building or home.

Two close relatives of the bed bug – the swallow bug and the bat bug – can occasionally be found in buildings and are associated with bird nests or bat roosts. All three species look alike, so proper identification is important to select the proper treatment and correct areas for treatment.

  • Bed bugs are wary, shy and become active primarily when all is quiet nearby.
  • Blood smears on bedding, walls, curtains and other light colored surfaces are signs of an infestation.
  • Bed bugs hide in cracks, seams and folds of bed sheets, covers mattresses, upholstery and the bed or furniture itself. Any area forming a crack, like pictures, loose wallpaper and ceiling tile rails can serve as harborages.
  1. A serious infestation can be characterized by a strong odor. this The common bed bug is a blood sucking parasite that has been an associate of humans for thousands of years. They had nearly disappeared in developing countries until recently, where, in the last five to ten years, they have been making a rapid comeback in hotel rooms, dormitories, and other public places where people sleep.
  1. Hiding places include seams in mattresses, crevices in box springs, spaces under base- boards or loose wallpaper.
  1. Bed bugs can survive for long periods of time without feed- ing and when their preferred human hosts are absent, they may take a blood meal from any warm-blooded animal.
